Tips for Self Care This Holiday Season
The holiday season can be a wonderful time for celebration with family and friends, but it can also bring plenty of stress. Increasing demands for our time and money, not to mention a never-ending to do list, can make this time of year difficult. The season that the popular song calls “the most wonderful time of the year” is, unfortunately, often one of the toughest.
At NAMI of Delaware and Morrow Counties, we want to sincerely wish you a restful and joyous holiday season. At the same time, we also want to recognize that the holidays are often hard. The heightened expectations and emotions that holidays bring can be difficult to manage. As you search for the perfect gifts to give to those you love, please don’t forget to give yourself the gift of self-care.
Here are some articles from NAMI national that have tips for taking care of yourself during the holiday season.
We also encourage you to consider attending a NAMI support group. Whether you are personally dealing with a mental illness or if you have a loved one who is, we have a group for you. In the midst of a season spent focused on others, please take some time to focus on yourself.
